Budding Rock Star???

For the past few months Marek has been on a kick of wanting to "play" Guitar Hero. I put play in quotes because he is obviously too little to actually play quite yet, but he none the less loves to pretend while I am the one doing all of the hard work (okay fine I secretly enjoy playing, there I said it). The only problem is that he is a picky song picker. He only likes a few songs and he makes me play them over and over again. Don't judge me for this next comment, but his all time favorite song of the moment is... Just Beat it, by Michael Jackson! :) Too funny I know! Who knows maybe some day we will be watching him onstage!!!

Easter

Note to self...it is probably not a good idea to let your 2 and a half year old eat a whole chocolate Easter Bunny head for breakfast! With that being said we might leave the finding of the Easter baskets until after lunch next year. :) It was a fun day with an Easter egg hunt at Nana's and way way way to much candy! Here are some pics of the day.

Texas

We just got back last Wednesday from Texas where Marek, McKenna, my mom and I spent a week with my brother and his family. Just thinking about that beautiful sunny 80 degree weather makes me wish we where still there! I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed thinking about traveling with 2 kids for the first time, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well both of my kiddos handled the trip. None of the screaming freak out situations that I had envisioned came to fruition and we all made it in one piece. Once there we had a wonderful time. Working around nap times and eating schedules we actually managed to do a lot. Marek had a blast hanging out with his cousin Knox and it was so great to spend time with Kyle and Stacie! I so loved just being able to go on walks and simply being outside. Something we haven't been able to do in Spokane for quite sometime without being bundled up in winter apparel. Leaving was definitely the worst part especially due to the fact that our flight left at 6:00 am which meant we had to leave for the airport at 4:00am. Although I suppose what was worse then leaving was coming home to a snow blanketed Spokane where the temperature was a not so delightful 38 degrees. Kyle and Stacie just so you know I think we might be seriously thinking about moving to Texas! :)

Wishing For Spring

I have lived in Spokane for all of my life, so I know all to well that we have a while to go before true spring-like weather graces us with its presence. So, as long as there is a little bit of sunshine we are determined to get out and go for walks as a family! Here are a few picks of our latest walk.

Bath Time Fun

We have been patiently waiting for the time when both of our children could take a bath at the same time. For that to happen two things needed to fall into line. One, McKenna needed to be big enough to sit up. And two, Marek needed to be able to be in the tub with her and not try to lovingly drown her. Thankfully the stars have aligned and bath time is for two now! :) Marek is loving having his sissy in the tub and McKenna is enjoying chilling/floating along in her bumbo. Its great for Brandon and I too because we get to kill two birds with one stone and get both of our little people clean at the same time!!! Here are some pics of tub time.

Sitting Pretty

We officially have a sitter in our midst! McKenna has actually been sitting unassisted for over a month! Go baby girl!!! Its crazy how fast the progression happens. It seems like only a few weeks ago she would wobble and topple over, and now she can sit for nearly as long as she chooses. We timed her the other night and she sat and played with toys without falling over for over a half an hour! Impressive! :) I fear crawling is just around the corner! I'm just not ready for her to be mobile yet!!!

Potty Time

I have to admit that Marek has been ready to be potty trained for a while, but the though of doing it for me was daunting. So, last Thursday armed with stickers, a potty chart I had printed off of the Internet and treats galore I decided it was time! Right from the get go he wasn't really keen on the idea of wearing underwear, but when he walked into the bathroom and saw the stickers, potty chart, and rewards taped on the mirror he was all in. And I'm happy to report that a week out he is doing great! There are days when we have no accidents, and if we do it is more my fault for letting a long period of time pass by without putting him on the potty. Funny note too, he likes to climb on the big potty to do his business now as apposed to going on his cute frog potty chair. Go figure. Now we just have to figure out a way to get him to go number 2 in the potty.
