Yard Work

I don't know how it happened, but somewhere in the past two years Brandon has become obsessed with our yard. He mows, fertilizes, and weeds (I know you're thinking these are all normal things - and they are, I agree). But he has gone into hyper mode where he digs out any dandy lion spotted in our yard, picks back flowers, sweeps the bark out, and just yesterday he rented an aerator to plug the yard. Don't get me wrong I am thankful that he takes such pride in our yard, but I hope his compulsion doesn't increase over time or he will be outside doing yard work all day and we will never see him! :) Here is a pic of him and the massive aerator he plugged the yard with in yesterdays 90 degree weather.

ABC's

Over the past few weeks Marek has been learning to sing his ABC's. His memory astounds us at times. He can honestly remember things in detail that happened months ago...I'm hoping this super sonic memory doesn't last or he will have some interesting stories to tell when he's older! :) None the less this is our little guy singing his ABC's today at lunch.

Hot Hot Hot

Temperature's in Spokane have been staying in the constant 80s and this weekend and next week it is  suppose to be in the upper 90s! How are we staying cool you may ask? One word...SPRINKLER!!! Marek has always been a fan of running in the sprinkler and based on her first experience playing in it yesterday, McKenna seems to share her brothers sentiment! The 4th of July

Just a laid back day at home with the kiddos for the 4th! Brandon and Marek washed and detailed both of our cars. Good job boys! And Nana came over for dinner! Here are some pics from the day!

Good "Dirty" Fun

Summer is officially here and as a mom of two I try to keep the kids outside playing as much as I can. Mainly because the good weather only lasts until late September, and it really tires them out! :) We have a giant sand box in our backyard and that seems to be where most of the play is happening lately. McKenna seems to do pretty well, and by that I mean she doesn't eat that much dirt (don't judge). With the sandbox and the sprinkler going our back yard is basically a kids paradise. And I personally think that if they don't get dirty then they didn't really have that much fun. Here's to many more "dirty" fun days this summer! :)

Dentist Time

Smile! Last Thursday Marek had his first official dentist appointment and it went GREAT!!! He had a blast in the waiting room playing with all of the toys (seriously he didn't want to leave the office when his appointment was over). They cleaned his pearly whites and put some sealant on, which he was not a big fan of. Can't blame him there! And the Dentist told me that his teeth look great and are spaced out beautifully. Yeah...lets hope they stay great and we don't need braces down the road! :)

Moving And a Shaking

It's true, we have a crawler in our midst's. In ever so "McKenna" fashion last Thursday evening, just hours after her 9 month checkup, little girl just put feet and hands to the floor and took off like she had been doing it forever. And boy is she into it!!! It is so sweet to see her having so much fun moving around and exploring all sorts of new things. Way to go Sissy La La. Here are some action pics of our little mover.
