Easter

Our Easter technically started on Saturday. We colored eggs with the kids in the afternoon, and then we went to our church's Easter service that evening as well (it was wonderful!). We were smart this year and decided to save all of the Easter activities until after nap time. That way the sugar rush wouldn't last all day!!! Marek and McKenna has a great time hunting for their candy filled eggs as well as finding their Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny had left for them! The sun was out and it was such a beautiful day...how fitting as a reminder of Christ's resurrection from the grave!

 Excited to color eggs.
Patiently waiting for the eggs to be ready to take out.

 More egg dying.
 3...2...1...lets go get some eggs!
This year he went straight for the candy!

 Yummy...a chocolate bunny.
Grandma Barbara helping them find more eggs.
Carefully looking all of her eggs over.
Wow! Look at the chocolate bunny.
 Loves :)

Outside Fun

Today was beautiful so the kiddos and I headed out to Franklin Park to play. It is so amazing to me how big they are both getting! Marek is really getting protective of McKenna, and never lets her out of his sight when they are playing, especially if there are a lot of other kids around. Today he would hold her hand and help her navigate across the toys, until she wanted freedom and finally broke free! We ended our afternoon at Burger King via Marek's request. What a fun afternoon with my two loves!

Sunshine

I have to admit that I've been really bad about posting in the last month! Chalk it up to the gray wet weather and life flashing by way to fast, but here we are and I promise to do better! Today started out with beautiful sunshine so when we got home from church we decided to go on a walk to the park. It was still cold and windy, but it felt so great to get outside. Some big changes from late fall (our last outside adventure) - Marek can petal and steer his Kettler trike all by himself, and McKenna can climb up to the slide at the play ground and go down all by herself! They are both getting so big! Here's hoping that the sunshine stays as a permanent fixture!
