Sissy La La

Yes, it's true that Miss McKenna is affectionately know as Sissy La La by her big brother Marek. Seriously sometimes he refuses to believe that her name is actually McKenna. :) Time flies! Can you believe that our baby girl is 8 months old already! She has two teeth (her bottom centers) and is working on cutting her top two as well. And although she isn't technically crawling, she gets up on her hands and knees and pushes herself backward and rocks forward as well. Which means that any day know she could be totally mobile. But most of the time she is just content to sit on the floor and play/chew on her toys all the while riveted by her brothers every move. She misses nothing that happens around her, and she is sneaky one as well. When Marek turns away or leaves a toy she nearly always leans in to swipe whatever he was playing with. She is an eater too! Her favorite things right now are cereal puffs and yogurt melt aways along with sweet potato and squash purees. If I had to choose one word to describe her it would be delightful!  Our happy little sissy la la.

Budding Rock Star???

For the past few months Marek has been on a kick of wanting to "play" Guitar Hero. I put play in quotes because he is obviously too little to actually play quite yet, but he none the less loves to pretend while I am the one doing all of the hard work (okay fine I secretly enjoy playing, there I said it). The only problem is that he is a picky song picker. He only likes a few songs and he makes me play them over and over again. Don't judge me for this next comment, but his all time favorite song of the moment is... Just Beat it, by Michael Jackson! :) Too funny I know! Who knows maybe some day we will be watching him onstage!!!

Easter

Note to self...it is probably not a good idea to let your 2 and a half year old eat a whole chocolate Easter Bunny head for breakfast! With that being said we might leave the finding of the Easter baskets until after lunch next year. :) It was a fun day with an Easter egg hunt at Nana's and way way way to much candy! Here are some pics of the day.

Texas

We just got back last Wednesday from Texas where Marek, McKenna, my mom and I spent a week with my brother and his family. Just thinking about that beautiful sunny 80 degree weather makes me wish we where still there! I have to admit that I was a little overwhelmed thinking about traveling with 2 kids for the first time, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at how well both of my kiddos handled the trip. None of the screaming freak out situations that I had envisioned came to fruition and we all made it in one piece. Once there we had a wonderful time. Working around nap times and eating schedules we actually managed to do a lot. Marek had a blast hanging out with his cousin Knox and it was so great to spend time with Kyle and Stacie! I so loved just being able to go on walks and simply being outside. Something we haven't been able to do in Spokane for quite sometime without being bundled up in winter apparel. Leaving was definitely the worst part especially due to the fact that our flight left at 6:00 am which meant we had to leave for the airport at 4:00am. Although I suppose what was worse then leaving was coming home to a snow blanketed Spokane where the temperature was a not so delightful 38 degrees. Kyle and Stacie just so you know I think we might be seriously thinking about moving to Texas! :)
