The 4th

I cannot believe that today is July 4th! Summer is definitely upon us! We started out our day with a trip to Grandma Barbara's pool. The kids had so much fun!!! McKenna had absolutely no fear of jumping into the water, and loved seeing Daisy and Hunter, Grandma Barbara's German Shepherds. Marek loved the water too, but was a little bit more cautious then his sister...thank goodness. I don't think I could have handled two crazy kids trying to jump into the pool by themselves! Later in the day we had a yummy BBQ with Great Grandma Babes, Aunt Susan, and Grandma Barbara while the kids ran around and played in the back yard! What a beautiful day! I love summer!!!

Splash Pad

Yeah!!! The weeks of rain are finally over and the temp hit 81 degrees yesterday. So, we headed to the Franklin Park Splash Pad to cool off and let the kids get out some energy. There was a stark contrast comparing McKenna this year to how she interacted last year! She is getting so big it's crazy! Marek amazingly was Mr. cautious at times. He enjoyed running around in the water, but never actually venturing full on into it, if that makes sense. However, both Marek and McKenna did stick their heads straight into the water towards the end. So glad the hot weather seems to be here to stay! Thanks for coming with us and sharing in the day Nana!!! :)

Fathers Day

It is without a doubt that I have a pretty great husband, and my kids have a wonderful daddy! Brandon, in stark contrast to myself, is so patient and calm...especially is high stress situations. It is these qualities that make him such a great dad, and our kids sure do LOVE their daddy!!! Its always fun to see how excited they get when they hear his car pull up in the evenings and then proceed to sprint to the door calling for him. A child's relationship with their dad is such a special relationship. In honor of Brandon today we just had a laid back family day. We played in the back yard and caped off the day with yummy barbecued sausage dogs! We love you Brandon!!!

Rainy Day Play

What does a rainy cold day equal? Yep, wearing pajamas all day and building a fort out of the sofa pillows in the living room! Honestly, I was doing the breakfast dishes and I looked up to find these two jumping around on my sofa pillows, and of course Marek telling McKenna where to go and what to do! :) They honestly played in the "pillow pad" jumping from the empty sofa on to the pillows for over an hour and a half! Meanwhile I got some really cute pictures of all of the silliness! Gotta love rainy days...sometimes! )

 

 

Feels Like Summer!

Hello eighty degree weather! This week has been so amazingly warm it really does feel like summer. The kids have been outside playing everyday, and yesterday we even pulled out the kiddie pool! I mean seriously people it is only the beginning of May. Spokane can be tricky though...I wouldn't doubt it in the least if the weather took a huge dip and stayed that way until July. :)  I really hope not though! We are enjoying our sunscreen, shorts and tee-shirts, long evening walks, and most of all Popsicles way to much to let it go! Here are some pics of Marek and McKenna playing in the kiddie pool yesterday with Nana.

Riverfront Park

Today we had a fabulous play date with our friends the Talley's at River Front Park! The kiddos got to go on the big red wagon, ride on the Carousel multiple times, play at the park and even run through the water station! Marek was so excited the whole time he could barely contain himself! McKenna's favorite part by far was the carousel! She had a perma-grin on her face the whole time! Thanks for sharing a wonderful afternoon with us Sara, Rylan and Ayla!
